Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Telemarketing Specialist is primarily responsible for telemarketing activities within METTLER TOLEDO. The position is structured to generate new sales leads and to market designated products, as well as service contracts and extended warranties.

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for supporting marketing initiatives with direct participation in outbound telemarketing campaigns and projects.
  • Call on customers to advise them of current sales promotions, and conduct surveys.
  • Be responsible for entry of sales leads for external sales.
  • Qualify sales leads by assessing need, budget, and buying authority.
  • Handle effective nurturing of leads; building relationships by conducting ongoing, informative dialog that helps qualified prospects who are not yet sales-ready. Move each lead to the next step in the sales cycle at the appropriate time and ensure a clean hand off to Sales Representatives when lead approaches a buying decision.
  • Provide monthly updates to the manager on situations that require a proactive approach, or trends that suggest alternate sales offers or approaches, through participation in a monthly team meeting.
  • Be responsible for duties associated with the management of account and contact information within the CRM system. Complete change requests in SAP to correct inaccurate customer contact information and duplicate data base records, and submit the change requests to the SAP Administrator.
  • Track all outbound and inbound calls in SAP and capture specific customer and product details related to the call.
  • Posses an overall knowledge/ ongoing learning of product lines and service offerings
  • Be responsible for learning the SAP system and any support modules.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Be responsible for achieving assigned telemarketing goals and objectives, continuously improving your customer phone skills, and communicating effectively with the Telemarketing Manager.


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university with a minimum of 3 years direct experience in a customer service or sales operation.
  • Prior experience working in a call center environment or related telephone call operation is desired.
  • Candidates must possess the ability to utilize and work within a computerized business data system and must possess strong data entry skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with other team members to achieve common goals in a highly variable and often stressful customer call-service environment.
  • Willingness and motivation to learn and acquaint oneself with many areas of the Industrial operation which may directly or indirectly impact the ability or effectiveness of your position.
  • Collaborate with other departments and work effectively in formal and informal cross functional teams.
  • Bilingual in English and French is a plus
